Runner Beans - Once the beans have started to form, don't allow them to get to long, or they don't taste as good. Pluck them off when they're about 4-6" long. Do this regular and often to ensure a plentiful supply for many months. - Stuart 8/6/03

Turnips - (Early Crop) - Pull up out of the ground, rather than dig them out. For eating raw, they should be about the size of golf balls. For cooking, slightly bigger (about the size of tennis balls). Don't cut the foliage off. Twist it off about 1 inch from the top of the turnip.- Stuart 19/6/03
